Contador takes over yellow jersey

Alberto Contador moved into the overall lead of the Tour de France after posting a dominant victory on the 15th stage into Verbier.

The Astana rider produced a devastating break in the final five kilometres of the first-category climb to the finish to come home 43 seconds clear of Andy Schleck at the end of the 207.5km trek through the Jura mountains.

The 2007 champion leads the overall classification by 97 seconds from Astanta team-mate Lance Armstrong, while Britain's Bradley Wiggins is third in the General Classification for Garmin-Slipstream after taking a superb fifth place.

Erstwhile race leader Rinaldo Nocentini came home over two and a half minutes behind the stage winner and has dropped to sixth place in the overall standings.
