Crouch expects Reds to attack

Striker Peter Crouch expects Liverpool to prove more of an attacking force this season thanks to Rafael Benitez's forays into the transfer market.

The Reds attracted criticism from some quarters last term over a cautious and one-dimensional style of play as they finished 21 points behind eventual champions Manchester United, but Crouch believes the addition of Yossi Benayoun alongside Fernando Torres, Ryan Babel and Andriy Voronin will mean Benitez's side will carry a more potent attacking threat.

"Rafa's definitely made some exciting signings," he said.. "He's signed a lot of forward players, players that can unlock defences like Benayoun and Torres."

He added: "Voronin's come in and Babel as well so it's exciting. Hopefully there'll be more goals and we'll be a bit more consistent away from home. In Europe we played very well but we certainly need to improve our Premier League form."
