Cullen agrees Warrington extension

Warrington coach Paul Cullen has agreed a two-year extension to his contract at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The decision ends speculation over the future of Cullen, who had been in the final year of his previous deal.

Cullen had been under pressure after a disappointing first half of the season but four wins out of five have lifted the Wolves into the engage Super League's play-off positions.

Former Wolves player Cullen brought stability to the club after becoming their fourth coach in the space of 12 months when he was appointed in August 2002.

He oversaw the club's move from Wilderspool to their new ground and has led them to the play-offs in three of the past four years.

The former Wolves player began his coaching career with National League Whitehaven but is now the longest-serving coach in situ in Super League.

A club statement read: "Following recent press speculation, Warrington Wolves can confirm that head coach Paul Cullen has accepted a two-year extension to his contract."

Cullen does not intend to comment on the development.
