Cup ties given go-ahead

Sheffield Wednesday's third-round FA Cup replay against Derby at Hillsborough will go ahead as scheduled on Tuesday despite heavy rain.

The club have confirmed most of the water has already drained away and there will be no need for a pitch inspection by the referee ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off.

The third-round replay between Bristol Rovers and Fulham will also go ahead after a Tuesday morning pitch inspection at the Memorial Stadium

Rovers' groundstaff have been working 20 hours a day to get the tie on and the club has spent in the region of £45,000 on a special inflatable cover to protect the pitch.
