Czekaj set for year out

The Welsh Rugby Union have confirmed wing Chris Czekaj's broken leg could rule him out of action for "up to a year".

Czekaj, 21, was stretchered off in agony after twisting badly as he tried to offload in a tackle by Australia hooker Stephen Moore during Saturday's second Test in Brisbane.

The Cardiff Blues player underwent surgery on Sunday and now looks set to miss the World Cup and 2008 RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Czekaj will be unable to fly home for at least 14 days as he recovers from the operation.
