Dalla Bona reveals Zola approach

Italian midfielder Samuele Dalla Bona has offered his services to West Ham having recently cut short his contract with Napoli.

Dalla Bona, who spent four years at Chelsea before joining AC Milan in 2002, is eager to again prove his worth in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old confirmed he has spoken to West Ham coach Gianfranco Zola with a view to returning to London. "I have spoken to Zola," said Dalla Bona to Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss. "I have told him I have ended my contract with Napoli."

He added: "I would love to return to London and I expect a reply from Gianfranco (Zola).

"I really hope that I can go back to England, where I really proved my worth."

Dalla Bona, who joined Napoli from Sampdoria in the summer of 2006, had failed to make a single appearance for the Naples club this season.

Earlier this week the player rescinded his contract with Napoli.

"At Napoli, I have found little playing time and, honestly, I still don't know the reasons why," he said.

"Despite playing well in my first year here and contributing to the team gaining promotion to Serie A, I have not been given the chance to prove my value.

"Obviously with (Napoli coach Eddy) Reja, there was no feeling."
