Davies staying put

Bolton have confirmed striker Kevin Davies has signed a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2011.

The 31-year-old joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Southampton in 2003 and has scored 41 goals for the club since.

He had been linked with a move to Premier League newcomers Hull City this summer, but has now committed his future to the club.

The Sheffield-born striker won the club's player of the season award last year and started this campaign by scoring on the Trotters' opening-day 3-1 win over Stoke.
