Davis targets triumph over adversity

Steven Davis believes wresting the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title from Celtic's grasp will be an even bigger achievement for Rangers following the loss of Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor.

Rangers struggled to register a 1-0 win at Falkirk on Sunday in their first game since the Ibrox duo hit the headlines as a result of their behaviour while on international duty with Scotland last week.

David said: "We all know they are two quality players and they would be a big miss to any side. It would be a massive achievement if we were to go on and win the league and that's what the boys are focused on."

Rangers already faced an uphill battle in the race for the championship - they still trail Celtic by three points.

Davis added: "Throughout the season, you are going to lose different players through different scenarios. We were also missing Kenny Miller and Kyle Lafferty through injury as well for this game. That happens throughout the course of the season.

"Obviously you wouldn't ask for these scenarios but it's something you have to deal with as you go along."
