Dimitrov set for Arsenal trial

Arsenal are to hand a trial to Levski Sofia striker Nikolai Dimitrov, according to reports in Bulgaria.

An article in Bulgarian newspaper 7 dni sport and picked up by www.lequipe.fr claims that Levski coach Stanimir Stoilov told his squad the 20-year-old had been offered a trial by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

"Arsenal are a big team and I admire the way they play," Dimitrov is quoted as saying. "But I had never even dreamt of being offered a trial."

Stoilov added: "Wenger's offer is a recognition not only of this young player but also for the whole of the Levski team."

Dimitrov made his debut for Levski in 2004 as a 16-year-old.

He has scored nine goals in the 32 games he has played for the club, who were Bulgarian champions in 2006 and last year.
