Duo join Wasps

Serge Betsen and Mark Robinson were unveiled on Thursday as Wasps' first new signings for next season.

Former France flanker Betsen has brought down the curtain on his 17-year association with Biarritz by agreeing a deal that will keep him at Adams Park until 2010.

The 34-year-old back-row star, who won 63 caps and is nicknamed the 'Grim Reaper' for his fearless tackling, will help fill the void left by Lawrence Dallaglio's impending retirement.

Betsen said: "I'm very excited about the next two years. I have always admired the English style of rugby.

"This is a tremendous opportunity, not only to come to the UK and play for an English club, but also to play for one of the premier clubs in England."

Former All Black scrum-half Robinson has joined Wasps after spending the past three seasons at Northampton.

The 32-year-old won three caps between 1997 and 2001 while playing for the Chiefs and Auckland Blues.

He said: "I'm delighted to be coming to Wasps next season. They are one of the top clubs in the Premiership and I'm really looking forward to getting involved.

"I have enormous respect for the players and coaching team at Wasps. I can't wait to get started."
