Dykes to join Hull

Hull have announced the signing of Australian half-back Adam Dykes on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old will join the Black and Whites from Cronulla in time for the 2008 season, and is seen as a direct replacement for Paul Cooke, who recently signed for Hull KR.

"I'm really looking forward to making the move to Hull," said Dykes, who has made close to 200 appearances in the NRL. "I've always wanted to have a shot at Super League and the Challenge Cup. Hull is a great club to try and achieve those goals with."

Dykes will replace Richard Swain, who is retiring at the end of the current campaign, in Hull's overseas quota.

"I am delighted to have signed Adam," said coach Peter Sharp.

"He is a very smart player and will provide strong leadership and direction on the field.

"His left foot will provide a nice variation to our kicking game."
