Eastmond inspires Saints win

Having booked their Carnegie Challenge Cup final berth after beating Leeds last weekend, Saints moved a step closer towards securing top spot in the regular season ahead of the play-offs.
This game was effectively over by half-time as tries from Chris Flannery, Jon Wilkin, James Roby, James Graham and Paul Clough sent the Knowsley Road outfit in at the break with a 30-0 advantage.
Teenager Eastmond proved an able deputy for Sean Long at scrum-half, converting all five first-half scores and then showing blistering pace to race 80 metres for an outstanding interception try 10 minutes after the break.
Half-back Chris Thorman scored 20 points as Huddersfield Giants finished with a flourish to secure back-to-back victories with a 40-14 win over Castleford.
The Tigers, ravaged by a sickness bug in midweek, were on terms at the interval in the engage Super League clash but rarely threatened in an error-strewn second period.
Thorman scored one try and kicked eight goals from nine attempts to inspire Huddersfield in a one-sided second half.
Kiwi Paul Whatuira scored after 74 minutes following a 90-metre break by full-back Leroy Cudjoe, prop Darrell Griffin charged over from close range, and in the final minute Thorman also went over to put the seal on a comprehensive win.
Three tries in the last 10 minutes kept alive Harlequins' slim play-off hopes with a 36-24 win, despite a brave Bradford fightback.
Quins raced into a 22-0 half-time lead but following a Bulls fightback after the break it took a late Quins rally, which included Will Sharp completing his hat-trick, to seal the win.
