Ecclestone warning for Silverstone

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has suggested he will remove the British Grand Prix from next season's calendar if Silverstone does not agree to a deal in the next two days.

Ecclestone is reportedly not prepared to negotiate further with the British Racing Drivers' Club, who are responsible for the circuit. Club president Damon Hill was part of a three-strong Silverstone delegation in Abu Dhabi last weekend hopeful of concluding a deal.

"They say there is not much between us and them, so they should sign," Ecclestone was quoted as saying in the Daily Express. "Maybe they have lost their pen, but if they don't find it in the next day or two then that is it. I will pull the race off the calendar and there will be no British Grand Prix to argue about."

Donington Park's bid to stage the race has already fallen by the wayside after they failed to raise the necessary funds.
