England always first for Beckham

The 32-year-old looks to have secured his England squad place for the rest of the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign but that will mean clashes with some Galaxy fixtures and his advisers will now speak with the MLS club to sort out his schedule to see which matches he is likely to miss.
A spokesman for Beckham said: "If called up, David will without question want to play for England, whether that's in a friendly or a competitive game. We will sit down with the Galaxy to work out that schedule when the matter arises."
The spokesman added: "David is extremely proud to play for his country and he will do anything to put on an England shirt. As far as he is concerned he can still play for his country at a high level for years to come."
Beckham is virtually guaranteed selection after his performances in the last two England games - last Friday's friendly draw with Brazil and Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifying victory in Estonia - and the first call-up will be for the friendly against Germany on August 22.
He is not thought to be concerned about the travel implications - the fact that the Germany match and four of the five remaining qualifiers are at Wembley will minimise the amount of time he spends in the air from Los Angeles.
Beckham is also aware that numerous Americans and south Americans play in Europe and regularly fly across the Atlantic to their home continents for internationals.
Meanwhile, the former Manchester United man looks set to be involved against Real Zaragoza on Saturday night as Real Madrid go in search of the win which could see them crowned Spanish champions.
Beckham was a doubt for the match after returning from England duty with an ankle injury, but although he trained away from his Madrid team-mates on Friday he was subsequently included in Fabio Capello's 20-man squad for the clash.
Capello said of the midfielder, who left the club's Valdebebas training ground on Friday wearing an ankle support: "He has not done any technical training, only running. He says that he is feeling a little pain but that he is okay and will be there."
