England and USA can work - Beckham

David Beckham has insisted moving to America should not have an adverse effect on him continuing his England comeback next season.

Beckham was brought back by Steve McClaren after an 11-month exile from international football and impressed in the 1-1 draw with Brazil at the new Wembley in which he set up John Terry's goal with a trademark free-kick.

Beckham, who is set to join LA Galaxy this summer, remains optimistic he can carry on playing internationally despite the gruelling travelling it would involve as he said: "Will playing in America have an adverse effect on my England chances? I hope not."

He added: "Physically I will be fine. I will still be as good as I am today. That is not going to be a problem.

"Travelling is not going to be a problem because I will travel from anywhere to play for my country so we will see. I haven't worked out schedules but I am sure it can be done nearer the time.

"Everyone at LA Galaxy knows that I want to play for my country and I am sure they will do everything possible to make it possible for me to play for my country."

However, Beckham has ruled out the possibility of returning to play in Europe once his playing commitments in the United States for this season come to an end in November.

He said: "Will I be coming back somewhere on loan? No. That is never going to happen."
