England call for Wright

Uncapped Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has been drafted into England's NatWest Series squad for the final two matches against India.

Ravi Bopara is doubtful for the games at the Brit Oval and Lord's due to a dislocated thumb while Andrew Flintoff's availability will not become clear until Tuesday when he tests his injured left ankle in the nets.

Chris Tremlett underwent an injection into his injured right foot on Monday and will not be available for Wednesday's Oval clash, although his fitness will be reassessed ahead of the final match in the series at Lord's on Saturday.

Wright, 22, has already received one international call-up this summer, having been picked to go to South Africa on Sunday for the World Twenty20.

He was the top scorer in the domestic 20-over competition this summer with 346 runs and also offers a seam bowling option.

England coach Peter Moores knows Wright well, having been his first coach at Hove, where he moved from Leicestershire as a teenager.

England lead the NatWest Series 3-2 and can seal a first one-day campaign win on home soil since 2004 by winning the penultimate match on Wednesday.

If either Flintoff and/or Bopara are not fit then form players James Anderson and Ian Bell will come under consideration as replacements in the 15-man squad for the Twenty20 competition.
