England lose four quick wickets

England lost four quick wickets against India when play finally got under way on the second day of the first npower Test at Lord's.

Overnight rain and early-morning gloom meant no play was possible before lunch, but the sun appeared in the afternoon and the umpires decided the action could start at 1.50pm.

Ryan Sidebottom was the first to go, bowled by Rudra Pratap Singh, before Kevin Pietersen edged Zaheer Khan behind. Sri Sreesanth followed up by dismissing Matt Prior and Chris Tremlett lbw, leaving England on 287 for eight.
