England must wait for Flintoff

Flintoff bowled at pace on the edge of the square at Lord's on Wednesday - but stand-in captain Andrew Strauss was unable to confirm the key all-rounder's fitness until it is known how his sore left ankle reacts to the work-out.
"He had two good spells out there, but we're just going to have to wait and see how he comes out on the back of that," said Strauss, who will be leading the team in the absence of the injured Michael Vaughan. "We probably won't know for sure until (Thursday) morning."
Flintoff suffered soreness in his ankle following Lancashire's match against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl last weekend - and was therefore sent for scans.
The 29-year-old has had two bouts of surgery on the problem joint in the past. "It's been a long-term injury for him, and the key is, 'Is he fit enough to play a full part in the game?'" Strauss added.
