England on top at Edgbaston

Prior (50 not out) and Shah (27no) were ticking along at a run a ball after a solid start by England's openers in the NatWest Series decider against West Indies.
Ravi Bopara, playing his 10th innings as an opener at this level, hit a superb 49 off 54 balls, while captain Andrew Strauss made 52.
As Bopara approached only his second one-day international half-century as an opener, the slow pitch contributed to his downfall when he pushed forward defensively to a Dwayne Bravo delivery and the ball bounced onto his stumps off the bottom edge.
Strauss, who had taken 21 balls to hit his first boundary and then immediately pulled seamer Ravi Rampaul for his second four off the very next delivery, had been content to play a supporting role to Bopara and contributed just 22 to their partnership.
But after Bopara's departure, Strauss scored more quickly and reached his half-century off 65 balls - only to fall to his next delivery when he pushed forward defensively to left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn and was stumped by wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin.
That left Prior and Shah to continue the good work in the middle.
