England pair bring up centuries

Paul Collingwood and Matt Prior hit hundreds as England pondered a declaration in their must-win final Test against West Indies.

Collingwood perished for 161 shortly before tea on the second day at Queen's Park Oval, which was taken on 490 for five, with Prior unbeaten on 108.

It took an umpiring challenge for the West Indians to snag their man, however, after Russell Tiffin initially turned down a confident leg-before shout from Lionel Baker. Replays highlighted what a poor initial decision it was, with Collingwood plumb in front.

Baker's maiden Test wicket halted a 218-run stand between Collingwood and Prior for the fifth wicket.

Prior reached his second Test hundred with a cut for two off Ryan Hinds, in the 144th over of the innings.

He responded by making a cradling gesture, in recognition of his son Johnathan, who was born midway through this series.

It also stirred the England dressing room balcony into action and the players appeared to be preparing to change into their whites in anticipation of a declaration.

It did not materialise before the second interval, though, and the tourists will be mindful of not batting too long in their quest to square the series at 1-1.
