Fab four for champ Moore

Ladies' Day at Glorious Goodwood was somewhat short of sweltering temperatures, but the sun certainly shone on Ryan Moore, who dominated proceedings with a 1,979-1 four-timer.

The champion jockey completed a clean sweep of the Group races on day three of the meeting, highlighted by Allegretto's victory in the ABN Amro Goodwood Cup.

Moore, whose four rides cost the industry in the region of £10 million according to William Hill, said: "To ride a winner here on any day is nice, but to ride four in a day is special."

He added: "I've been getting good rides, and riding for people like Sir Michael Stoute and Richard Hannon - I should be riding winners, shouldn't I?

"But winning the championship is not possible this year, although I'd like to get to 100 winners."
