Wigan's England centre Martin Gleeson returns to Warrington for the first time since his £100,000 move to the JJB Stadium last month while Richard Mathers makes his "home debut" for the Wolves alongside his former Warriors team-mate Mickey Higham.
Warrington coach Tony Smith is hoping his players in particular do not allow the occasion to get the better of them, saying: "I've seen occasions when players can overdo the hype against their old team. They try too hard and mess up. Getting the balance right is important for both those young men. I'm sure they will get it right, they've been around for a while now."
Mathers was sent off in this fixture last season for a high tackle on Matt King, now his team-mate.
Gleeson, who scored 44 tries in 110 appearances for the Wolves, is bracing himself for a hostile reception from his one-time adoring fans.
"It's going to be a very hostile environment and a very tough game," he said.
"The reception is not going to be good. I enjoyed my time there and I have a lot of friends there but I'm sure the fans will give it to me."
Wigan are aiming to halt a five-match losing run in this fixture going back to 2003.
