Ferguson hails Tevez
29 January 2007
The Argentinian has formed a lethal partnership with Wayne Rooney this season and in 12 games together, the pair have scored 15 goals - contributing to 11 wins and a single draw - despite Tevez not being able to speak to his strike partner in English.
"Carlos' English is getting a bit better, but he is proving football intelligence is more important," said Ferguson.
"Football brains can react without using your tongue."
Ferguson rates Tevez as his player of the season so far, no mean feat considering Cristiano Ronaldo now has 17 goals to his name.
And the Scot is certainly enthused by his player's willingness to give everything for the United cause.
"Carlos has shown us a great love to play," he said.
"He has this great consistency in terms of keeping hold of the ball - but if he does lose it, he is like a terrier going back after it.
"He doesn't like making mistakes and he is strong and brave. You can't kick him out of the game. He just bounces back up and goes looking for the ball again.
"That is a fabulous quality, something all football people love to see."
