Alex Salmond was in Colombo with the bid team for the final few days of the two-year campaign to bring the prestigious Games to the city.
On Wednesday morning he was set to discuss Glasgow's bid with members of the Sri Lanka media.
Bid director Derek Casey and Louise Martin, chairman of the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland, was also set to hold a press conference.
The battle for the Games is a contest between Glasgow and Abuja in Nigeria, and the successful city must secure at least 36 of the available 71 votes to secure the Games.
In the coming days, their representatives will make presentations to voters.
On Wednesday evening, the Scottish bid team will host a Glasgow 2014 Reception and Ceilidh for delegates.
Said to showcase the best of Scotland, it takes place in the capital's Cinnamon Grand Hotel, where the winning city will be declared on Friday.
The announcement will be made at the end of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Games Federation, which started in Colombo on Monday.
The Abuja bid team will hold a lunch for delegates on Thursday.
