Five-try Robins ease through

Hull KR were rarely troubled as they eased their way past the Celtic Crusaders 32-6 in the fourth-round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup at a foggy Craven Park on Friday night.

Justin Morgan's men - who reached the quarter-final stage last year - ran in five tries in a low-scoring encounter against a lacklustre Celtic side who they beat 48-18 in the league just 19 days ago.

Full-back Ben Cockayne, who was convicted of assault but spared jail on Thursday, was left out.

Kris Welham broke the deadlock with eight minutes gone, Clint Newton got his fifth try of the season and Daniel Fitzhenry claimed his first of the campaign seven minutes into the second half.

With Rovers looking comfortable they were stunned slightly when Celtic opened their account for the evening on the hour mark. The try came from David Tangata-Toa, a National League winner with Rovers in 2006. The end of Celtic's challenge was then confirmed by a third try of the season from Liam Colbon.

Danny Brough scored 18 points as Wakefield eased into the fifth round with a 10-try, 54-0 demolition of Leigh.

The Super League Wildcats were far too strong for the Championship part-timers at Belle Vue and all but settled the game with 26 unanswered first-half points.

Matt Blaymire, Aaron Murphy and Sam Obst each touched down twice while Damien Blanch, Danny Sculthorpe and Tevita Leo-Latu also crossed.

Brough's contribution came from a try and seven goals from 10 attempts.

Meanwhile, Halifax edged a thrilling fourth-round clash at the Shay to oust Paul Cullen's Widnes Vikings 20-16, while Sheffield Eagles had to come from behind to beat Dewsbury 28-18.
