The left-handed opener feels removing the key trio of captain Mahela Jayawardene, wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara and veteran Sanath Jayasuriya are the key to the contest.

Fleming said: "They have a couple of batsman who have dominated world cricket in certain roles. Jayasuriya has been very aggressive; he's a key wicket to get, while the captain and Sangakkara more or less hold the innings together."

He added: "If we can get wickets at the top, we're not faced with a scenario where you've got (Andrew) Symonds, (Shane) Watson, (Mark) Boucher and (Shaun) Pollock, who can destroy you in the last 10 overs.
