Flintoff edging closer to comeback

The 31-year-old, who has had surgery on torn knee cartilage suffered while playing for Chennai in the Indian Premier League, has not set a date for his return but wants to turn out for Lancashire ahead of the first Test against Australia beginning on July 8.
Asked when he will be back, Flintoff told The Times: "I don't know to be honest - it's hard to say in stone."
He added: "Lancashire have got three championship games this month, I'll be hoping to make at least one of them."
The all-rounder knows he can ill afford to rush his recovery, having been hampered by injuries for the last two years, and is not concerned that the five-match Ashes series comprises two pairs of back-to-back Tests.
"I've not even thought about that," he said. "I didn't even know there were two back-to-backs, but that's why I can't rush back.
"I've got to come back when I'm right and get the knee and the rest of my body right because, coming back from injury, other parts of my body are susceptible.
"But I'm not too worried about the schedule. It is what it is and it's going to be good fun."
