Flintoff happy with progress

The 29-year-old Lancastrian joined up with England for the start of their preparations for the seven-match NatWest Series against India on Sunday determined to prove his worth with both bat and ball in the coming weeks.
"The bowling takes care of itself. From picking up a ball in the nets I can land it somewhere near and it's pretty much uncomplicated," said Flintoff. "As for the batting, a few more runs or a big score would have been nice but I'm desperately close - it's so close to being exactly where I want it to be."
Flintoff is yet to score a half-century this season having played two County Championship matches for Lancashire since his return from a third operation on his troublesome left ankle.
He is confident, however, of rectifying that record in the next fortnight, stressing: "I've probably never batted as much in the nets or against bowling machines in practice and I feel myself getting to where I want to be, or where I need to be.
"I think I'm one score and a bit more time in the middle away from everything falling into place. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm confident I will be."
