Flintoff ruled out

All-rounder Andrew Flintoff has been ruled out of the penultimate match of England's NatWest Series against India at the Brit Oval due to his ankle injury.

Flintoff, 29, went to see the surgeon who performed the third and latest operation on his left ankle on Tuesday evening and it is not yet clear how long he will be sidelined.

England, who will give a debut to Sussex's Luke Wright and also Dimitri Mascarenhas, are due to make a further announcement on Flintoff later on Wednesday morning.
