England's star all-rounder failed to fire at the World Cup and was also stripped of the vice-captaincy after a late-night drinking binge.
"I've been in this position before when people have doubted me and written me off and I've come back strong," Flintoff told The Sun. "I will do it again."
He added: "I'm not going to kid anyone. It was a very hard winter and the last 18 months have taken their toll at times.
"But you've got to learn from it and I'll come through this. If you don't learn from something like that, then it is a waste of time.
"I've definitely learned a few important things about myself, about my game and how to take it forward and improve.
"I'm desperate to play well again. I've just got to bring it out."
