Fry lauds 'role models'

Honda boss Nick Fry has hailed Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello as role models in the face of adversity.

Fry has opted for continuity for 2008, confirming the duo as his driver line-up for next season despite the current campaign has been wretched, with the team taking one point from nine races. But, through it all, Button and Barrichello have smiled through gritted teeth, refusing to criticise the team when it would have been easy to do so.

Applauding their temperament and spirit, Fry said: "Both drivers have done an exceptional job under very difficult circumstances. If there are young drivers out there looking at how to act under those kind of circumstances, then both Jenson and Rubens have been a case study in how to work."

He added: "They've both driven to a very high standard, and made the very best of the equipment, while on some occasions they have done more than we thought possible. That's a great accolade to both of them.

"But their behaviour inside the team has also been exceptional in terms of keeping the fighting spirit, wanting to test the car the whole time and being very optimistic.

"I would say it has been a first-class performance from both of them, and that is why we have gone for continuity for next year."
