Galaxy in charge over Beckham's future

Beckham has hinted he would consider extending his two-month loan deal at AC Milan, which is due to expire on March 9 while Milan general manager Adriano Galliani revealed that Beckham's lawyers are in talks with the Galaxy over extending the midfielder's stay at the San Siro.
But according to Peter Mooney, head of consultancy with Employment Law Advisory Services, Galaxy have the advantage in negotiations. He said: "LA Galaxy hold all the cards at the moment."
He added: "They have to agree to a change in the deal whether it is in terms of an extension or a sale.
"He has to get himself out of his contract with LA Galaxy so he'll be wanting to get a fair deal out of it, but if he doesn't take out proper advice then it could end up being quite expensive, even by his standards.
"They will have invested a lot of money in the player. When he went there was a huge fanfare of publicity.
"Perhaps Galaxy are thinking they are not getting their money's worth but no doubt they are getting a handsome fee from AC Milan for the loan."
Mooney did warn, however, that Galaxy could end up losing the advantage in the deal if they drag their heels over a fee for Beckham.
He added: "David Beckham is obviously tied to LA Galaxy and if he wants to extend his contract at Milan then some sort of fee will obviously be involved.
"The argument will be over whether they want him to come back and whether they will allow him to stay at Milan."
