Galea and Webster lead Hull KR charge

Ben Galea and Jake Webster each scored twice as Hull KR maintained their superb start in the engage Super League by beating Catalans 44-10.

In-form scrum-half Michael Dobson weighed in with 16 points at Craven Park as Rovers scored eight tries in total to lift themselves above champions Leeds.

Clint Greenshields pulled one back as the Dragons briefly threatened one of their famous comebacks late in the first half but Rovers proved too strong. Liam Colbon, the outstanding Scott Murrell and Ben Fisher also got on the Rovers scoresheet as the below-par Dragons clearly missed the likes of Greg Bird, Thomas Bosc and Jason Ryles.

Wigan's teenage winger Shaun Ainscough made the most of his late call-up by scoring four tries to give his side a 40-26 win over Wakefield.

The 19-year-old Ainscough, who was only restored to the Warriors line-up following the withdrawal of George Carmont, raced in for his first Super League hat-trick in the first half before adding a fourth after the break to take his try tally for the season to 16 in just 10 senior appearances.

Ainscough's devastating finishing overshadowed the Danny Brough show as the Wildcats twice let slip the lead to lose their Challenge Cup dress rehearsal

Chris Hicks grabbed a hat-trick of tries for the second successive week as Warrington smashed Huddersfield's nine-month winning away record with a 40-18 victory.

Hicks followed his treble in the 58-22 romp at Bradford with a first-half hat-trick to inflict on the Giants a first away defeat since they lost at Leeds last July. The Giants had won 10 games in a row but missed the chance to climb to second in Super League.

Hicks, who plundered 30 points against Bradford last week, also booted six goals from nine attempts to finish with another impressive haul of 24 points.

Finally, Castleford got their show back on the road in Wales with a 34-22 win, but the long wait for a Super League victory for the Celtic Crusaders continues into another week.
