Ganguly punishes Pakistan

Sourav Ganguly recorded his highest Test score as India reached 461 for six at lunch on the second day of the third Test against Pakistan on Sunday.

Having started the day 365 for five, India continued from where they had left off as Ganguly piled on the runs in the morning session.

The 35-year-old Ganguly (169 not out) had been formidable on Saturday alongside Yuvraj Singh, who stole the show following his recall to the Test team.

Yuvraj had reached his maiden 150, sharing a superb 300-run stand with Ganguly before he was caught at gully by Faisal Iqbal.

The only wicket to fall before lunch on Sunday was that of Dinesh Karthik (24), whose innings was ended by Yasir Arafat.

He and Ganguly had enjoyed a 66-run partnership until Karthik fell, but the latter continued to put Pakistan to the sword.

Irfan Pathan reached lunch unbeaten with 18 as India made Pakistan toil in the field once again.
