Gatti found dead

Canadian boxer Arturo Gatti has been found dead in a hotel room in Brazil at the age of 37, according to reports.

Gatti was staying in the seaside resort of Porto de Galihnas with his wife and one-year-old son.

Police are understood to be considering foul play because of reported evidence of injuries to Gatti's head.

Gatti held the IBF super-featherweight and WBC light-welterweight titles. He also won a WBC belt but lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2005.

His record stood at 40 wins and nine defeats when he retired in 2007.
