Gay and Powell ease through

The USA and Jamaican stars, both easing down significantly in the first round, finished runners-up in their first-round heats.
But there was heartbreak for Portugal's Francis Obikwelu, whose medal hopes were destroyed when false-starting.
The 2004 Olympic silver medallist, and the only European with the real credentials to challenge Gay and Powell, cut a forlorn figure as his ambitions were dashed by an elementary error.
Gay, the fastest sprinter in the world this year, and Powell - the reigning world record holder - gave nothing away of their true form when sauntering to respective times of 10.19seconds and 10.34secs.
The American, who has forecast Powell's record of 9.77secs could fall in the final, said: "The track is extremely fast, and the weather 'sooo' hot. I only gave 60%. I am a 100% healthy."
Powell, who has maintained a low-key presence before the championships, said only: "Good track, fast track."
The marathon final saw Luke Kibet, coping easily with the arduous weather conditions, achieve the biggest winning margin in the championships' 25 years history.
Kenyan Kibet clocked a time of two hours 15minutes 59secs, a massive 1min 19secs ahead of Mubarek Hassan Shami of Qatar - with Switzerland's European silver medallist Viktor Rothlin third in 2:17.18.
Kibet said: "This was not the toughest marathon of my career. I felt comfortable, despite the hot weather. After 30km, I realised the pace was too slow and began to push. At 32km, I believed I could win the race."
