Gibbs impressed by Steyn return

Herschelle Gibbs is confident Dale Steyn can continue South Africa's fine heritage of fast bowling after witnessing his impressive return to action against England Lions.

The 25-year-old strike bowler, who missed the final two Tests of South Africa's historic first series win in England since 1965 after breaking his thumb, helped the tourists secure a comprehensive four-wicket victory at Grace Road.

Steyn claimed three for 27 as the Lions were dismissed for a lowly 184, and Gibbs - who effectively settled the outcome with a determined 81 - said: "He's following very much in the footsteps of Shaun Pollock and Allan Donald, and it's great for South African cricket. If he stays fit for a long time, I think he's going to do very well."
