Gilchrist adds name to history books

Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist claimed a world record 414th Test dismissal as India were bowled out for 526 on day two of the fourth Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Captain Anil Kumble edged a Mitchell Johnson delivery to the 36-year-old for the final wicket of the first innings as the tourists stayed on course to level the four-Test series.

Australia began their reply in the final session of the day and had reached 62 without loss at stumps, with Phil Jaques on 21 and Matthew Hayden 36.

Gilchrist made his Test debut in 1999 against Pakistan and has played 95 times for Australia. Kumble's scalp took him past Mark Boucher's tally of 413.

Sachin Tendulkar top-scored for India with a superb 153, while Johnson was the pick of the home attack, finishing with four for 126.
