The scrum-half is among seven changes following the record 36-0 loss to South Africa.
"We are really looking forward to getting out onto the pitch and getting back to the way that we know we can play," he said. "There is a lot on it, and we want to go out there, sort our performance out and get the win that's needed."
England have first-hand experience of how tough Samoa can be as World Cup opponents, having struggled past them in Melbourne four years ago.
Many of Samoa's current squad play in the English Premiership, and Gomarsall added: "They have got a lot of experienced guys in there.
"A couple of years ago when you looked down their team, there was a couple of guys who played in the Premiership, but most of the guys who play for Samoa now are very recognisable.
"It has already been mentioned in our analysis of them that they have got nothing to lose and everything to gain in this game, and we fully expect them to run it from everywhere."
Gomarsall, wing Mark Cueto, centres Mathew Tait and Olly Barkley, fly-half Jonny Wilkinson, hooker George Chuter and flanker Joe Worsley have all been drafted in following the Springboks debacle.
