Gould accepts Terras post

Former Wales manager Bobby Gould has ended a six-year absence from club management by taking over at struggling Blue Square Premier side Weymouth.

The 62-year-old has not had a managerial role since leaving Cheltenham in 2003 but, after a coaching spell at Peterborough, he has been named as the new Terras manager following Alan Lewer's sacking in the wake of Saturday's 1-0 defeat by already-relegated Lewes.

Gould, who has also managed Coventry and Cardiff, inherits a dire situation at the Wessex Stadium, as the cash-strapped Terras have lost 11 games in a row and reside in the bottom four.

Gould was appointed Wales manager in 1995 but quit four years later after their Euro 2000 qualification campaign began badly.
