Graeme storms into contention

Hartlepool's Graeme Storm shot the round of his life, a magnificent nine-under-par 63, to vault into a share of second place after the third round at the CA Championship.

Storm came home in just 29, courtesy of an eagle and five birdies, to join a large group four strokes behind Australian leader Geoff Ogilvy on Doral Resort's Blue Monster course.

Ogilvy jumped clear of the field with a 68 to post a 16-under 200 total going into the final round of the £4million World Golf Championships event.

Tiger Woods' seven-tournament winning streak is in serious jeopardy after he shot a lame 72 to fall five shots off the pace.

Woods, who struggled with his putter, made just one birdie, carding the worst round among the top 30 players.

Storm shares second place with Australian Adam Scott, Fiji's Vijay Singh, South African Retief Goosen and American Jim Furyk, while Woods was tied for seventh with Dane Anders Hansen.

Storm's lofty position was a far cry from Thursday, when he slumped to three-over after just nine holes, before picking up four shots coming home.

Ogilvy resumed on Sunday with seven holes left and the 2006 US Open champion made the most of his morning, picking up two birdies to jump clear of the field in soggy conditions.

The final round was scheduled to start shortly after the end of the third and, barring more bad weather, the event should be completed on Sunday.
