Graham: We're ready to go

Newly-crowned Man of Steel James Graham believes a more laid-back approach can pay dividends when St Helens bid to reclaim the engage Super League trophy from arch-rivals Leeds in Saturday's Grand Final.

Coach Daniel Anderson, who takes charge of his final match, has revealed he changed the club's training programme after an inquest into last year's crushing 33-6 defeat by the Rhinos - and Graham is confident the changes will pay off.

"Last year was pretty full-on but this year everything has been a bit more laid-back, like the trip away (to Madrid)," he said. "I think the gaffer has got it right this year. We're ready to go."

Saints, of course, gained a measure of revenge for last year's Grand Final mauling when they knocked Leeds out of the Challenge Cup in July, and they handed out a 38-10 humiliation in the qualifying semi-final only a fortnight ago.

But the Rhinos showed their character by bouncing back against Wigan last Friday and Graham is dismissing the relevance of their last meeting.

"I wouldn't read too much into what happened when we put one over on them," he added.

"We got lucky and got on a bit of a roll. It's hard to stop when teams get on such a big roll.

"Leeds are a good side and they showed their ability to come back. It doesn't matter what happened two weeks ago, it's all what happens on the day."
