Gunners hampered by loss of Toure
21 January 2008
Toure limped off in the seventh minute of Wednesday night's goalless Champions League draw with a calf problem sustained when he blocked a shot by Pato.
The loss of yet another player to the treatment room compounded a frustrating night for the Gunners who failed to capitalise on their dominance at the Emirates.
Emmanuel Adebayor missed a sitter in the dying moments while Emmanuel Eboue, Cesc Fabregas, Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo also butchered chances.
They head to Italy for the last-16 second leg in two weeks' time seeking to break the defending champions' stranglehold over English opposition on home soil.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "It promises to be a very interesting game in the second leg.
"We didn't concede a goal against them but didn't finish the chances we created because we were a bit too forceful with our final ball.
"We had plenty of chances but were a bit nervous and when we took shots we didn't test their keeper enough.
"I feel we can still progress because we can play at a high tempo for 90 minutes. Overall, 0-0 at home isn't bad. I didn't dream of that scoreline but to not concede a goal is not bad.
"Milan will start as favourites in the San Siro but we can deal with that."
