Hadden hails 'sensational' Paterson

The Gloucester utility back nailed six penalties out of six to win his kicking duel with Italian counterpart David Bortolussi, who landed 11 points but missed a late three-pointer with four minutes left that would have sealed the Azzurri victory.
The Scots now face a probable last-eight clash against Argentina, and Hadden said: "Chris Paterson and his goalkicking were sensational."
He added: "I want to pay tribute to the hours and hours of practice which has got him into this position. He thoroughly deserves the accolades that will no doubt come his way after this."
Hadden, who also singled out fly-half Dan Parks for praise as well as the gritty effort of his pack, added that he knew all along Bortolussi's late penalty shot was going to miss.
"I was directly behind it - and it was never heading towards the posts," he said, with a grin.
Hadden was also delighted with the work from his forwards, who he claimed were up against one of the best packs in world rugby.
"I remember about a year ago, talking to (assistant coach) George Graham and (backs coach) Alan Tait, and we said 'what if it is raining on the night we play Italy?'.
"We knew we had to get the pack up to speed - because Italy have one of the best packs in the world, especially in these conditions. So it is a tribute to the players and the coaches, and it is their effort that gave us the win."
