Hammers reveal new sponsor

West Ham United have signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with online bookmakers SBOBET, which will run until the end of next season.

The Hammers had been without an official sponsor since the collapse of XL Holidays in September midway through a £7.5million three-year contract.

The SBOBET logo will appear on West Ham shirts for the first time in Monday's Barclays Premier League clash with Tottenham.

The deal - described by West Ham as "lucrative" - will also ensure increased exposure to the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

The charity's logo will appear on kit worn by West Ham's academy sides and all junior replica shirts.

West Ham chief executive Scott Duxbury said: "This is a great deal for West Ham United and I am looking forward to a successful partnership with SBOBET.

"Finding a new shirt sponsor usually takes up to six months but a lot of effort and hard work has gone into this process.

"I would also like to thank the fans for their understanding and patience during this time."

The club will provide details to supporters on the official website, www.whufc.com, of how supporters will be able to update their 2008/09 shirts free of charge.
