Winger Sharp - who had not scored a try all season for Quins - crossed the whitewash either side of the half-time interval for Brian McDermott's men.
Leeds' Scott Donald took his try tally to 21 for the season to reduce the deficit to four points late on but it was not enough to save the World Club champions - who had lost just twice in Super League all season - from defeat.
Full-back Clint Greenshields produced an inspired performance to help Catalans Dragons keep the pressure up in the engage Super League with a 45-38 victory over Wigan Warriors.
The 26-year-old Australian ran over a hat-trick of tries as Dragons bounced back from a first-half deficit with a strong performance after the interval.
Dragons scrum-half Thomas Bosc was also in form with the boot as he was successful with eight kicks to help the home side take the victory which left them a point behind second-placed St Helens and five points behind table-topping Leeds Rhinos.
