Hedblom holds his nerve

Peter Hedblom beat fellow Swede Martin Erlandsson by one in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

Erlandsson fired a 10-under-par 62, the lowest round of his life, but did so from six behind at the start of the day and overnight leader Hedblom's pitch to four feet on the long 16th took him back in front.

He then safely parred the last two holes for a closing 67 which gave him the first prize of £233,330 with a 13-under-par total of 275.

Defending champion Gregory Havret and former Open champion Paul Lawrie shared third place.
