Henman concerned by Murray pressure

Tim Henman has warned against putting too much pressure on Andy Murray so soon - comparing the expectations on the youngster to the recent sackings in the Barclays Premier League.

Murray, ninth in the world rankings, crashed out of the Australian Open to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga this week - but Henman refuses to read too much into the result.

"What more can he do if he has a great attitude and works 100% in every area of his game," said Henman.

"We suffer from that in sport in this country. You look at the Premier League and eight managers have been sacked. What are the expectations.

"Those eight teams that have lost their managers, at best they could be from first to eighth. What are they expecting? That is when it is very difficult.

"My career was probably gauged on whether I won Wimbledon. And I didn't. Does that make me a failure?

"I would say that just because that is how people judge it, it doesn't mean it is right.

"I look at my career and at one stage I was fourth best on the planet. There were only three people better than me in tennis. That's not bad.

"You have to be strong in your mind to tell yourself it doesn't matter what else has been said."
