Hernia op for Mido

Middlesbrough striker Mido is likely to miss the rest of the season after undergoing a hernia operation.

The club announced on their website that the 25-year-old, whose first season on Teesside has been beset by injury problems and a recent suspension, is unlikely to add to his 12 appearances and two goals this campaign.

The Egyptian forward struggled with a pelvic bone injury earlier this season and was suspended for three matches following his dismissal in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

Boro have now confirmed he will be out for a significant period to recover from hernia surgery.
