Herron tops Pebble Beach leaderboard

Tim Herron opened up a one-shot lead after the second round of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Herron carded a three-under-par 69 to move to seven under, one clear of Robert Floyd, Michael Allen, JB Holmes and Nicholas Thompson.

"Going into the weekend, the leaderboard is packed," said Herron. "Anyone that makes the cut has a chance to win the tournament."

Phil Mickelson, the defending champion and three-time tournament winner, signed for an even-par 72 and is one under for the tournament.
